Today, I would like to introduce myself. My name is, Dr. Nadine Peez, and im a new study director at Spectral Service since July 2021. Before I worked at Spectral Service I studied Chemistry at the Johannes-Gutenberg University in Mainz and did my doctoral thesis at the University of Koblenz-Landau. During my chemistry study, I discovered a passion for organic and analytical chemistry and therefore, through my choice of major areas, I was able to aquire in-depth knowledge in organic and analytical chemistry. Since my chemist’s heart beats for analytics I choose an analytics topic for my PhD.
The goal of my PhD was to develop a new method for identification and quantification of microplastics using quantitative 1H-NMR spectroscopy. This is how I got to know and love qNMR spectroscopy. The qNMR spectroscopy offers a great alternative to other analytical methods. It is a really fast method and moreover, still very precise. Also the combination of structure elucidation and quantification is really practical. Therefore, I am proud to be part of the Spectral Service team and to be able to continue to work in the field of NMR spectroscopy in the future.
However, I chose Spectral Service as my future employer not only because of my love for qNMR spectroscopy. But also because the working-areas are so diverse. Already in my first month I was able to contribute, for example, to the structural elucidation of peptides and to the identification and quantification of substances in green tea extractes. The order spectrum ranges from the food industry to the cosmetic industry or to the pharamceutical industry.
And last but not least, Spectral Service convinced me that I am not alone in my love for analytical chemistry.
